A recent report from Hull University Business Schools adds weight to what most small business owners already know – we never seem to get a look in when competing for public sector procurement contracts.
In Italy and Germany over half of public procurement goes to SME’s and in Sweden nearly 70%.
As the report suggests UK authorities pay lip service to the notion the small firms have the same opportunity to compete.
The process is still far too long winded with the red tape and jumping through hoops procedure proving both costly and time consuming which tends to lead to many SME’s not bothering .
Where do we go from here ?
